Bangkok, Samut Sakhon y Samut Songkram

After 9 consecutive days of route, we finally arrived at Samut Shakon, a village on the outskirts of Bangkok and our starting point to the South.

In the morning, we took the train to pick María up. We welcomed her with balloons as she had spent the day of her birthday on the plane. .... one hour later and there were no signs of her. We started to get worried ... maybe she has forgotten her passport? Maybe she was retained for bringing Spanish ham? Is there another way out? There we were with coloured balloons and María didn´t appear.... Finally, she phoned to tell us that she was in the meeting point of the airport.

Bangkok welcomed María with a heavy storm on our way from the taxi to the city.

Once installed in the hostel, we went to Chinatown to look for bike shops. By the time we arrived, many of the bike shops were closed, so we just had a quick look and decided to come back the next day.

The food we had at the airport was not very good, so we went in search for the first Pad Thai of many that María will try during the trip…

The following day, we went back to Chinatown to make the second inspection. When María saw Winna she was madly in love with it! After some hesitation among white or matt green, she took the green and bought it. We were then fully equipped to start the southern route!

We went back by train to Samut Shakon, but now with a new fellow! How exciting! The Samut night market is one of the best I've seen in Thailand, great and varied food, and all extremely clean.

The next day we did the first route the 4 of us together to Samut Songkram, only 41km away from Samut Sakhon to test how the “Winna” behaved. We arrived soon, so we had enough time to visit the city and to eat the ice creams that the Thai children eat after school.
